Tring & District History Society

TRING’S HISTORY forms the background to everyday life in our market town and surrounding villages. Quite a lot of the history is known but there is always more to find out.

The Society founded and maintains the Local History Museum on a voluntary basis and new volunteers are always welcome.  Contact the Secretary for more information.

If you are interested in our heritage, you are very welcome to join the Society. There is an Application Form on the Membership page of this site.

Speaker Events

Members attend our Speaker evenings when varied topics of historic interest are presented six times a year, usually at Tring Parish Hall on Wednesday evenings. (Non-members are invited to make a donation of £4.) The next event is

and the full year’s events can be seen here.

Society Newsletter

Members exclusively receive the Society’s Newsletters, which contain items of news as well as original papers on local history, and this is delivered to members regularly every two months.
